Rhyd-y-groes touring caravan site and camping site offers a tranquil, relaxing base for nature lovers and those wishing to escape the pressures of daily life. Situated on the Welsh border and near the Powys market town of Welshpool, the camping site offers guests the best of both worlds: an authentic camping experience with a superb range of local amenities on the doorstep.

The site, which is set in farm and woodland, is habitat to many species of local wildlife, including birds, butterflies and moths. It has been carefully and lovingly cultivated by owners William and Helen Davies, and a variety of trees, shrubs and herbaceous borders have been planted in order to enhance the site’s natural beauty and preserve it as a wildlife area. Recentley introduced is a large wildlife pond, encouraging both bird and pond life.

Although camping on the site can feel like a world away from urban life, there is easy roadside access to the camping site all year round, and facilities available on site enable guests to enjoy the comforts of modern life alongside the rustic pleasure of outdoor camping.

Campers are able to use a modern, purpose-built facilities block, which is centrally heated all year round and includes ladies’ and gents’ washrooms with basins, WC, free use of hairdryers, showers, hot water and shaving points. New for 2018 seperate facilities block with seven fully serviced wet rooms.

In addition to the camping pitches, the site boasts 60 touring caravan site pitches, all of which have electric hook up, and many of which are fully serviced.

Ten camping spaces are availale, some with elecric hookup, however we can still cater for larger parties.

The camping site is exclusively for adults (over 25). Dogs are welcome on the site.

The camping site is the ideal base from which to enjoy outdoor pursuits in the glorious Welsh countryside, such as walking, riding or cycling, as well as exploring the nearby areas of Welshpool, Montgomery and Mid Wales.
